- He had angina and other heart disease, and had a mild heart attack on New Year's Day 1966, when walking uphill to the car from the Pasadena Rose Bowl. He was hospitalized a couple of more times and had been at the Pasadena Hospital for three days, dying from a myocardial infarction. His last words to his wife, Barbara Warren McCall, were "either the pain is gone or I am..." The cardiologist later told the family that he (the MD) had just read of a new procedure for opening occluded arteries in the New England Journal of Medicine but it was still explerimental.

- Mac's children added a small granite marker at the Grove Cemetery, Holden, Massachusetts in June 2008, when they buried Barbara Warren McCall's ashes there in her family plot. Mac's ashes remain buried in Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

Evening wedding.
Miss Cora Campbell, daughter of Dr. M. B. Campbell of 1608 Orange Street, last evening became the bride of Rev. Clarence F. McCall, who recently accepted a charge in Japan. Rev. and Mrs. McCall will spend the summer here and in the East before leaving for the Orient. Rev. E. C. Norton of Claremont was the officiating clergyman and the guests were relatives and intimate friends only. Miss Mary Campbell, a sister of the bride, and Dr. Robert A. Campbell, a brother, attended the couple as maid of honor and best man, and little Marian Campbell was the flower girl.

Rev. C. F, McCall Jr pastor of the Congregational church here for the past five years. Monday announced his resignation He has accepted a call to Forest Grove. Ore. home of Pacific University. effective Dec. 1. Rev. McCall explained he was making the move because of the opportunity to work with larger numbers of college-age persons. The pastor said Pacific university is a Congregational college with 1,000 students enrolled. Active in many community affairs. Rev. McCall was a member of the board of trustees of the Black Hills General hospital, president of the Pennington county health advisory committee last year, a member of the Lions club, a member of the Red Cross executive board for the past four years, served as president of the Rapid City Ministerial association, is president of the Pennington county Council of Churches, member of the corporate board of Yankton college at Yankton, member of the executive committee of the state Conference of Congregational churches, chairman of the Indian affairs committee of the conference. The McCalls came here in October, 1943. from Livingston, Mont. where he was minister of the Holbrook Congregational church. Mrs. McCall and their four children. Merritt, nine, Judy, seven, Marshall, four, and John, one, will accompany Rev. McCall when he leaves for his new pastorate. Forest Grove is 21 miles west of Portland.
