MISS AGNES LANE,
WELL KNOWN HERE,
WEDS IN DANBURY
Bridgeport Businessman
Officiates As Best Man.
Bride Is Noted Soprano Singer.
A wedding of much interest to Bridgeporters took place in Danbury this morning when Miss Agnes Lane, a daughter of Mr. William Lane, a former resident of this city who was for some years a member of the staff of the Farmer, and Mr. James McNamara, a prominent young businessman of Danbury were married in Saint Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church at 7 o’clock this morning.
The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Katherine Lane, who is also organist of the church in which the ceremony was performed. Mr. Henry M. Ford, the well-known north end automobile dealer, was best man. Following the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride’s parents. After an extended honeymoon trip the young couple will make their home in Danbury.
Mrs. McNamara’s mother was Miss Maria Daragan previous to her marriage, and is a daughter of one of Danbury’s oldest merchants. She is a brilliant musician and was formerly organist at Saint Peter’s R.C. Church. The bride has inherited her mother’s musical talent, and is the possessor of a rare soprano voice which she has trained under New York teachers. She will be remembered by those who attended the Ladies of Charity tea at St. Vincent’s Hospital last January for her beautifully rendered vocal contribution contributions to the program. The bride’s family have many relatives and friends in this city who will be pleased to learn of her marriage and to extend their congratulations to the happy young couple.
